Help Prevent Breast Cancer Using a Common Daily Supplement

Each and every women is concerned with being able to prevent breast cancer. Breast cancer kills thousands of women each year. Every year researchers spend so much money trying to find a cure for breast cancer. But, of course, the best route of staying safe is to just take every step you can to prevent breast cancer.

As early as 1993, studies in print in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute indicated that there might be a link between omega 3 fatty acids and breast cancer prevention. While the results are still not irrefutable, many bonus studies since then also have indicated that there may be a tie. Omega 3 fatty acids are found in fish oil and flax oil. They contribute to the health of your heart and are anti-inflammatory compounds. The anti-inflammatory compounds are what could possibly be help prevent breast cancer.

Flax seed and fish are where you usually get omega 3s from. If you don’t consume very much of these foods then you may have a moderate omega 3 deficiency. Which can be harmful to your health. It can contribute to depression and cardiovascular tribulations. Additionally, it can really interfere with your immune system which could cause some serious auto-immune issues.

The auto-immune issue is where researchers believe that omega 3s could also contribute to breast cancer prevention. Cancers are caused when cells factually go crazy, and an anti-inflammatory agent could play a huge role in calming down those cells. If the cell is calmed and does not start dividing uncontrollably, then the cancer could be avoided.

Most people who want to hedge their bets end up taking a daily omega 3 supplement for their general health and to do everything possible to prevent cancer of any type. Memory gathering and heart health are also helped when taking omega 3s. The evidence is not set in stone on whether or not omega 3 supplements can really help to prevent cancer, but it really is smart to be prepared.

Posted in Breast Cancer on August 18th, 2009 by Admin – Be the first to comment

Can you clarify that to me please? For the initial stage of breast cancer that is.

RESPONSE

Combined modality treatment means combinations of all modalities…the modalities for cancer are surgery , radiotherapy and chemo.
These are used one with the other for a breast cancer.
For initial stage patient is taken up for surgery first
If breast conservation surgery done then radiotherapy follows surgery which is followed by chemo. Otherwise with total removal of breast or mastectomy chemo only. Followed by hormonal therapy depending on hormonal status.

How long after someone is diagnosed with breast cancer do they start treatment?

Posted in Breast Cancer on August 18th, 2009 by Admin – Be the first to comment

So my ex just told me that she has breast cancer, but she is coming to the states (from Spain, shes spanish) for a few months for a job and then plotting on going back to school to san diego in august. Shouldnt she stay in Spain to get treatment straight away? Thank you.

RESPONSE

It varies depending on the health facilities accessible.

She should be undergoing talks over treatment immediately but depending on the health facilities she has access to it may take a while (max 1-2months) before treatment starts. If she Private Health Indemnity it should start straight away and the fund may then pay for further treatment while she is in the States.

It also varies depending on the treatment she has (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or surgery) whether she can travel or not. I’d talk to her in this area it a bit more so that if your still willing to help her out you can organise hospitals, doctors etc.

So overall, I’d probably talk to her.
